Sunday September 18th

Workparty: Fruit Tree Planting + Fall Harvest + Potluck + Free Store! @ Mercy Edible Park 521-536 Mercy Street

The Philly Orchard Project is scheduled to deliver our order of fruit & nut trees, fruit vines, berry bushes, & other perennial edibles on Friday, September 16th. We want to have a big work party on Sunday to get these babies in the ground & celebrate the next step of MEEP actually becoming a food forest!

In order to plant this stuff, we also have to pull out some of our dwindling summer crops & harvest as much food as possible. Come help us eat everything we’ve been growing!

There should be different varieties of tomatoes, bell & jalapeno peppers, butternut & acorn squash, turnips, purple & orange & white carrots, onions, asian & thai & purple & white eggplant, lima & long & green beans, pumpkins, hops, & grapes! We also have a ton of herbs like mints, sage, parsley, thyme, oregano, basil, lemon balm, rosemary, & coriander. Get ’em while they’re still around!

In addition, we’ll have our usual call for a POTLUCK & FREE STORE. Bring a dish to share with other volunteers, & bring your clothes, books, CDs, & other used/loved items to give away. It’s gettin’ time to work on that fall/winter wardrobe. Anyone got any good sweaters?

All extra free store items will be donated to Philly AIDS Thrift at the end of the day.

Thanks Loves!

And that’s it folks! We’ll be back every week to keep you posted on What’s Happenin!

About The Fuhrl

we are a community of artists who are trying to give each other a leg up. this site will be a space for us to increase awareness of like-minded bands and artists through reviews, show announcements, links to other related sites, and any and all things we can do to show anyone on the world wide web who cares to see all the rad art being made and largely ignored in the philadelphia region. and we're taking it to the rest of the country on a yellow schoolbus next summer!
